Tomasz Kijewski
Tomasz Kijewski, who represents the CORE-Climate and Ocean Research and Education Unit of the Institute of Oceanology Polish Academy of Sciences, is a biologist and deals with the genetics of marine fauna in the context of changes in biodiversity towards human activities. He is a specialist in fish biology, a blogger and an educator. Tomasz has co-created and co-run numerous international and local events, from science days, through workshops to conferences.
About IO PAN
Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences is the largest marine-oriented research institution in Poland, and the main areas of research include:
· The role of the oceans in climate change and its effects on European seas,
· The variability of the Baltic Sea environment,
· Contemporary changes in the coastal ecosystems of shelf seas,
· Genetic and physiological mechanisms of the functioning of marine organisms.
